Black Walnut Management


Open-grown trees with large crowns produce more nuts than woods-grown trees with small crowns. But the number of nuts, frequency of nut crops, and size of kernel varies greatly from tree to tree. Find trees that have large nuts with a high percentage of kernel. Use these nuts as your planting stock.
