The number of seedlings to be planted depends on their size and quality, as well as the amount and size of advance regeneration and potential stump sprouts in the stand. You may need to plant about 200 oak seedlings per acre to supplement natural regeneration, and possibly 600 or more per acre where there are no seedlings present.
