The field requires tillage before planting and thorough weed control for two or three years after planting to insure survival and fast growth. Planting is an expensive and time consuming task. But once established, these trees will regenerate from either root suckers or stump sprouts depending on the type of tree originally planted. Consult a forester for specific advice.
