Each year a huge amount of time, effort, and money is spent on educational Field Day events. The investment is made because the programs can be exciting and memorable with a direct, hands-on connection between students and the science of their environment. The problem is that these events are not always productive educational opportunitities. Focused observation and assessment are needed to ensure increased effectiveness and and the best possible outcomes.
