Decision Case Description:
Presents three case scenarios related to the cleanliness of the Minnesota River: The Hugel Case, which outlines the dilemma of a farmer as he tries to comply with the residue requirements of conservation; the Wilder Case, which presents the pros and cons for one farmer of using filter strips; and the Falke case, which examines the decisions that need to be made by a family seeking to build a hog finishing facility. Explains the issues involved in all three cases using a thorough explanation of the case itself, additional information related to each case (including a new, improved map for the Falke farm decision case), and teaching notes to guide the facilitator. Includes 16 slides and slide narration. For community leaders, extension educators, and all those interested in the health of the Minnesota River.
