Tall Buttercup
(Ranunculus acris)
Tall buttercup is a perennial reproducing by seeds. Stems are erect, hairy, one
to three and one half feet tall, branching at the top. Leaves are alternate, and
divided into narrow segments and usually three-cleft. Leaves are covered with
hairs. Flowers have five to seven shiny, oblong petals that are bright yellow,
but may sometimes be cream-colored. Flower size varies from one eighth to one
inch in diameter.
