Anise hyssop, Agastache foeniculum, is a bushy perennial hardy to Zone 4 and has the aroma of sweet licorice. The nectar-filled flowers are quite prolific and are attractive to hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies. Grow from seed indoors or purchase plants and transplant in the garden after the frost danger passes. The leaves can be used for tea, and the flowers dry well.
