Garlic chives, Allium tuberosum, is an aggressive perennial that is easy to grow from seed or division. The leaves are flatter than common chives with a subtle garlic flavor. It can be used as a garnish and is also good in flavored vinegar. The attractive white blooms are a very nice addition to bouquets. Both types of chives will freely reseed if the blooms are not cut.
