Thyme, Thymus vulgarus, isa perennial to Zone 4 and prefers sun and well-drained soil. It is another good herb to grow indoors. It can be grown from seed or cuttings. Its aromatic leaves are used in soups, sauces, and dressings. French folklore says that thyme is a home for fairies, so gardeners should plant a little bed for them!
