Rosemary, Rosmarinus officinalis, is an aromatic herb with a slightly piney fragrance. This attractive herb is best propagated from cuttings or by purchasing plants. In Minnesota, it is a tender perennial often grown in pots and placed outdoors in a sunny location when weather is warm and settled. Rosemary should be kept in a warm, sunny window during the winter, avoid cold drafts. Be sure the soil mix is well drained. It is used mostly in lamb and pork dishes.
