Unemployed? Be Flexible

Examine every alternative—moving to another city, changing careers, going back to school. This could be a good time to make a successful job switch.

Try not to make a rash career decision under pressure of finding another job. Make your move on your own terms—objectively and rationally—if at all possible. Several new books are available to help you in making your decisions and in updating your resume. Remember, once your resume is up-to-date, keep it up-to-date.

Losing a job is never pleasant. If it happens, try to focus on the positive aspects of the situation and maintain an optimistic attitude. This helps to keep your stress level at an optimal level during a difficult time in your life.
