Negative Body Language

  • Human beings signal anger, anxiety, or opposition by:
  • Cold or clammy hands
  • Tightened jaw
  • Arms folded across chest
  • Fencer's position (side view)
  • Intense eye contact
  • Perspiring
  • Tightened muscles
  • Hunched shoulders
  • Shallow breathing
  • Clenched fists
  • Altering distance from other person

Activity 20 Negative Body Language

As a family, discuss the following questions:
Have you seen any of your family members using Negative Body Language?
Which ones have you used?
How do you feel when someone uses Negative Body Language when they're talking to you?
What could or should be done about it?
