What is the NMP software?
The Nutrient Management Planner is a computer program that runs on Microsoft Access and is designed to help ag producers and their advisors develop:
- annual field-specific nutrient management plans for crop and livestock farms,
- long-range strategic nutrient management plans including Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plans (CNMPs),
- nutrient plans that meet requirements of USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service programs, and
- manure nutrient management plans that meet requirements of Minnesota State 7020 Feedlot Rules.
Crop recommendations generated by this software program are based on published information from the University of Minnesota Extension and are consistent with the USDA-NRCS-Minnesota 590 (Nutrient Management) Standard.
For more guidance about NRCS nutrient management planning, visit the MN NRCS Nutrient Management page.
