Phosphorus
Conference to be Held in St. Paul
Sarah Greening
Assistant Dean
College of Agricultural, Food, and Environmental Sciences
You are invited to attend the upcoming
conference Phosphorus Cycling in Agricultural,
Urban and Aquatic Ecosystems sponsored by the
College of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Sciences
at the University of Minnesota.
The purpose of this conference is to gather experts on
phosphorus and share what is known about its use and identify
knowledge gaps. Leading experts will discuss phosphorus
transport, water hypoxia, the phosphorus index, and fertilizer
recommendations. Scientists, farmers and others with a
strong interest in water quality will help formulate research
priorities during breakout sessions at the end of the conference.
The format for the day is modeled after the University’s
successful Nitrogen Symposium that was held in 2002.
The conference will be held from 8:00 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.,
on Tuesday, March 29, at the Continuing Education Center,
on the St. Paul Campus.
For more information on the conference, including registration
information, please go to www.COAFES.umn.edu/phosphorus or call Erik Kattan at 612-624-1456. There is no fee for
the conference; however, we do require that you pre-register.
