Irrigation Water Management Clinics Set for March

 Jerry Wright
Extension Engineer
Dept. of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering

Four irrigation water management clinics have been scheduled around the state at the following times and locations:

  • March 14th * St Cloud @ Best Western: Michael's Restaurant
  • March 15th * Wadena @ Elks Lodge
  • March 17th * Owatonna @ Cabela's
  • March 18th * Glenwood @ Minnewaska House

The main purpose of the meeting is to teach irrigating farmers and EQIP irrigation contract holders, as well as crop consultants, TSPs and others, how to use the Checkbook Irrigation soil water monitoring tool as an irrigation scheduling aid.

The clinics are sponsored by the University of Minnesota in partnership with the USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service Minnesota. The meetings run from 9 a.m. to 12:30 at each location.

Three CEUs in the soil and water area have been applied for from the Certified Crop Advisors Program.

Pre-registration is encouraged. Cost is $45 by March 7th and $60 after this date or at the door. Registration flier is available from http://www.bae.umn.edu/extens/irrigation/irrigationclinic.html or by calling 800-646-2282.
