Oval Callout: Hurry up Chewy!
We gotta get to the Field School.

ANNOUNCING: The 2004 Ag Professional Field School will be held at two locations this summer.

·        Crookston: July 13-14

·        Waseca: July 22-23

Each Field School will be held at the respective Research and Outreach Centers

The Field School is offered as a hands-on, in-field program emphasizing crop and pest management diagnostic skill building in field crops.  This program is targeted towards agronomists, salespeople (seed, ag chemicals, fertilizer), crop consultants, Extension Educators, agriculture government agency personnel, farm managers, and summer scouts.  Participants will have the opportunity to enhance their troubleshooting and crop management skills in specially designed plots that display actual cropping situations.   A key feature of the Field School is the small learning groups students are placed in with an instructor to enhance the learning experience. Each subject is led by experienced instructors offering personalized instruction and small group activities.

Each Field School Session will offer 12.0 hours of Continuing Education Units (CEU) for Certified Crop Advisors in the following categories.  The Crookston Field School will offer: 7.0 in Pest Management, 2.0 in Nutrient Management, and 3.0 in Crop Management.  Waseca will offer 6.0 in Pest Management, 3.0 in Nutrient Management, and 3.0 in Crop Management.

The registration fee for the Field School is $375 per individual.   A group registration fee is available for $350/individual for five or more people employed by a single company or agribusiness.  Student space for each Field School Session is limited.  The registration deadline for the Crookston Field School is July 7 and the deadline for the Waseca Field School is July 14.  A brochure describing the Field School agenda, registration information, CEUs, and other details is available upon request.  One can also view the 2004 Field School details by visiting the Internet at the following address: http://www.iap.umn.edu/.

Registration forms for individuals and groups can be downloaded from the web address. No online or credit card registrations can be accepted.
