These volunteers lead projects, answer horticultural questions, hold plant, pest and garden clinics, teach educational programs, write articles for local papers and host a local TV3 Show called the Rambling Rose. Currently Becker County has 18 Master Gardeners that were trained through an intensive training on home horticulture topics from the University of Minnesota.The Becker County Extension Office features Plant, Pest and Garden Clinics every Monday (May - September) and Friday (June - August)from 9 a.m. to 12 Noon at the Extension Office - 1120 8th St. SE Detroit Lakes, MN. The Gardening Clinics are possible because of the volunteer help of several experienced Master Gardeners. If you would like to enhance your horticulture skills, and volunteer your time helping others consider becoming a Master Gardener.
