Episode 10: working to address the child care shortage

West Central Initiaive

Communities are getting creative in how they work to understand and address child care shortages. Greg Wagner from the West Central Initiative shares steps they are taking to increase child care capacity in communities.

Through the use of their Forgivable Childcare Loan Fund, home-based child care providers in West Central Minnesota are able to start or improve a child care business to help communities remain vibrant.

"Child care is at such a premium, people will drive more than an hour away to get their kids in child care. This impacts the life-work balance in that family."
