Why should I consider this?
To learn and develop skills
You will develop an understanding of your personal strengths and leadership characteristics. You will learn to facilitate and participate in meetings that work, as sessions provide concrete ideas and tools for making meetings more effective.
U-Lead Advisory Academy workshops provide real results for professional and personal development. Program evaluations have shown significant changes in personal leadership attributes for community leadership, the ability to address challenges, and making decisions about leadership contributions.
To find leadership companions
Participants in U-Lead Advisory Academy care about Minnesota. You will learn about people and projects across Minnesota, and make connections with people who can be a resource for you as you face leadership challenges. Participants of the first four cohorts describe discovering relationships that they will turn to in the future as they solve problems and make decisions.
To share information
You will lend an important perspective to the program's discussions, adding value to the learning and influencing the future of Extension in Minnesota.
To gain insights and new perspectives
You will hear ideas and strategies that have worked in other parts of Extension, other parts of the state, and other sectors and institutions. The program also considers perspectives that are important to leading for the public good. You will have the opportunity to bring this back to the communities and organizations you care about.
