Mentoring within community groups

It is easy to think that everyone should "just know" how to be a leader of an event or an organization. Sometimes it is hard for seasoned community leaders to remember what it was like their first time running a meeting or seeking support for a cause.

Mentoring is a way of connecting those who have the skills, knowledge, and resources with someone who is not as experienced but has a desire to learn and contribute. Mentorship builds relationships, strengthens leadership skills in both the mentor and the mentee, and helps to ensure that knowledge is passed on from one generation of leaders to the next.
