Many crop producers rely on ag professionals to help them manage their crops efficiently, with an increasing focus on environmental stewardship. With the increased emphasis that the agrichemical and seed technology industries are placing on education of their personnel, the UM Extension Service has specifically geared several educational offerings to ag professionals. These offerings are the Crop Pest Management Short Course (2 days of seminar-based programs held in November), the Ag Professional Research Update (0.5 day in January, seven sessions in different regions of the state), and the Field School for Ag Professionals (2 day hands-on learning school in July).

Serving...

  • Minnesota (and surrounding states) Ag professionals: retail dealers, field agronomists, crop consultants, sales personnel, and Regional Extension Educators.

Specific Goals

  • To create opportunities for ag professional learning and disseminate key research-based messages to the agricultural professional community of Minnesota, while maximizing revenue to create new and better educational programming opportunities.
