About Small Grains Production Extension

Advancing successful wheat, barley, and oats

Providing information you can count on for healthy, profitable crops

University of Minnesota Extension focuses on the delivery of timely and relevant research-based information and sound production practices. We enable small grain producers to learn about and adopt production practices that increase profitability and reduce economic and environmental risks.

What we offer

Wheat, barley, oat, rye, and triticale growers will find valuable research-based information such as the field survey projects, risk assessment tools and decision guides, and guidance on replanting decisions. We offer the Small Grains Field Guide, the small grains update seminar, and conferences on topics of importance to small grain producers. You can find numerous online resources such as articles, variety test results, and alerts on pests and disease.
