Extension's Mission: Making a difference by connecting community needs and University resources to address critical issues in Minnesota.

I'd like to welcome you to the University of Minnesota Extension Service website. This site is one of the many tools we offer to help make a difference in the lives of Minnesotans.

Whether or not you're one of the thousands of Minnesotans who has used Extension offices, you and your community have benefited from Extension. Since 1909, Extension has been in Minnesota communities, working with individuals, organizations, and agencies to put the University's research and resources to work for you.

Extension at Work

Whatever your interests, we have something for you: From finances to flowers, parenting to pigs, youth to yards, trees to toads, and much, much more. Around the state, Extension staff and faculty provide programming on a variety of topics including parenting, agriculture production, youth development, gardening, and business retention and expansion.

Virtual Extension

From our home page, you can find practical information you need in thousands of online documents. We have made most of our full-text publications, complete with graphics, available free of charge on the web. Recent news releases, newsletters, Info-U answers and Yard & Garden  materials are accessible at this site.  The Extension Store offers educational materials for purchase.

If you're looking for an Extension workshop, conference, or other educational program to attend, you can search the Workshops for offerings in a location near you. Some courses are available  online so you can learn right at your own computer.
