The Dean and Director's Award to Distinguished Extension Support Staff was established in 1987 under the leadership of Patrick Borich, Dean and Director (1984 - 1995), in cooperation with the Extension Civil Service Consultative Committee, to recognize excellence in supporting the work of Extension. It carries a $1,000 stipend and is available annually to one Extension campus-based support staff member and one county or area support staff member. Selections are made by a committee from nominations by Extension colleagues.
