Work Experience
Cece has over 15 years of experience facilitating adult learning both in the nonformal education sector and in the child welfare system. Her work centers around helping adults understand and meet the needs of young people and honing expertise and wisdom in practice, and working to enhance the development of the youth worker workforce.
- Lead the Center for Youth Development Staff Development Committee
- Co-President of the MN School-Age Care Alliance (MNSACA)
- Member of the Next Generation Youth Work Coalition Leadership Council.
Current Role
Cece Gran is an Associate Program Director at the Youth Work Institute at the University of Minnesota Extension Center for Youth Development where she leads curriculum development and facilitates courses on the practice of youth work and promoting positive youth development.
- Create and facilitate Youth Work Institute Signature Programs. Lead the youth worker workforce initiative in Minnesota.
- Unify and align the research and evaluation of Institute training programs, adult learning, learning theory, and positive youth development practices.
- Make presentations to community, University, state, and national groups representing the work of the Institute and its programs.
- Give state and national leadership and presence to building the field of youth work.
