Extension Educators, in partnership with other organizations, provide the following curricula. To schedule, contact our Family Resource Management Educators.
Hands on Banking teacher workshop Innovative and entertaining tools teach money management. The self-paced program is available free online, on CD-ROM, and in print. It is available in both English and Spanish.
High School Financial Planning Program (HSFFP) A six unit program, developed by the National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE)®, teaches teens personal management goals, budgeting, tracking income and spending, credit, insurance, and the time value of money.
Financial Fitness for Life A curriculum, developed by the National Council on Economic Education (NCEE), helps students apply economic concepts and decision-making skills to the real world of earning, spending, saving, credit, and managing money.
Learning, Earning & Investing A curriculum also by NCEE, is a comprehensive investment education which introduces students to the ins-and-outs of long-term investing, including a critical look at investment opportunities mutual funds, stocks, bonds, and more and uncovers strategies for building lasting wealth.
Managing College Life: Your Money, Your Housing, Your Future Four educational workshops for college students address issues of credit and debt, identity theft, financial literacy and tenant education. Each topic can be taught in a 1-hour workshop or combined with others to customize workshops for college students.
Customized Youth and Money Training Workshops designed for school districts, colleges, agencies, churches, or youth organizations, which may include: teacher trainings, student orientations, staff in-service, parent education programs, and youth day camp development on a variety of resource management topics.
4-H Consumer Decision Making 4-H members learn how to compare prices, make wise consumer decisions, evaluate quality, and how to save for goals. Youth teams participate in a statewide contest to demonstrate their decision making, verbal justification, and teamwork skills.
