We teach how to take care of lawns and other turfgrass areas, working through various organizations and agencies. Our audiences are:

Professionals — training through vendors, professional associations and state agencies

Master Gardeners — part of their core courses, continuing education and update training

Public — typically for homeowners at locally arranged classes and workshops

Soil Test Interpretations and Fertilizer Management

A soil test will provide soil nutrient information and guide the use of fertilizer and lime.

 

Phosphorus Use Restricted by Law  
 

Minnesota Phosphorus Fertilizer Law — Because of concern for excessive phosphorus in lakes and rivers from fertilizer, the Minnesota legislature passed a statewide law that restricts the application of phosphorus fertilizer to established turf. Details can be found in Chapter 18C of Minnesota Statutes.
