Wellness Policy Resources for Schools
Build Healthy Futures
The University of Minnesota Extension Service—Health
and Nutrition Educators can assist your school in developing
its “Wellness Policy.” We are experienced in working
with the community partners who need to be involved in developing
your Wellness Policy—parents, students, school board
members, school administrators, food service managers, teachers,
local nutrition professionals and the public.
A package of resources is available to guide you through
the steps to develop your Wellness Policy. Using this
Guide will save you time and help you develop a comprehensive
policy. This will ensure that your students get the
best balance of nutritious food offerings, physical fitness
opportunities and nutrition education.
