Spreading the word about pollinators

Dodge County

Children planting flowers in a raised garden bed

Dodge County Master Gardeners taught classes, staffed information booths and took to social media to spread the word about the importance of pollinators. They showed county residents how to help native bees and other pollinators thrive in home gardens and community landscapes.

Master Gardeners presented in classrooms and led hands-on activities for the Kasson Mantorville Elementary School Interest Academies. They teamed up with the Olmsted County Master Gardeners on a “pollination station” with kid-friendly activities for Oxbow Park’s Spring Fling. And they worked with the Kasson Public Library on Growing a Better World, a 6-week program that taught youth about flowers and their importance to pollinators.
