Acrobasis demotella

  • Young larvae burrow into buds in early spring, killing some or all buds at ends of twigs
  • Expanding shoots wilt and foliage dies
  • Older shoots are hollow from feeding and break easily
  • Damage to young trees and saplings is difficult to overcome
