About the program

Our work contributes to:

  • safer meals away from home
  • reduced citations and violations during health inspections
  • lower risks of foodborne illness outbreaks and related financial consequences in restaurants, hospitals, jails, schools and homes

We serve:

  • food service managers
  • commercial and community food handlers
  • care givers, especially for seniors
  • consumers, including hunters and fishers
  • commercial food processors
  • food inspectors and food industry staff

Our goals are:

  • to provide thorough, timely, relevant, research-based food safety educational opportunities statewide on food preparation, food service, preservation, and processing to Minnesotans.
  • to demonstrate increased use of safe techniques to reduce food safety hazards.
