Cinco de Mayo Celebration

This comprehensive program provides event staff, festival organizers and volunteers with the essential knowledge and organizational tools to successfully operate as a successful event planner. Content is divided into 3 easy-to-master classes that complement one another, creating a complete festival management package. Further, electronic list serves create and maintain a network of other event professionals. Participants are awarded a certificate when they complete all coursework, submit a written event analysis, and complete a program evaluation. Participants can choose to complete the program either through the in-person classes offered on the St. Paul Campus of the University or online.

Offerings  
 

Festival Management I — Understand the importance of job descriptions and learn volunteer management techniques. Discuss event logistics and budgeting processes. Offered in-person and online.

Festival Management II — Explore how to prepare for the unexpected. Learn about risk management and crisis communication. Also: marketing strategies and sponsorship development plans. Offered in-person and online.

Festival Management III — An in-depth, 3-hour seminar that examines a specific issue or topic of interest to the events industry. Previous topics include accessibility for event patrons, event crisis management and sponsorships. Offered in person during the fall.
