Our Programs

Wonder Years

Wonder Years is a mutli-faceted approach to explore the science of early childhood development.

Take a Virtual Tour of the Wonder Years Exhibit

Take a virtual tour, to learn all about the lives of young children and what science can tell us about how their brains think and learn. These short videos, produced by CYFC, show museum visitors exploring this invigorating space and learning all about the young children that surround them.

The Exhibit

The exhibit, Wonder Years: The Science of Early Childhood Development, is at the Science Museum of Minnesota. It covers topics of brain architecture, social relationships, language development, and children’s play.

The Research Study

CYFC is conducting research on how Minnesota policymakers might use this exhibition and related citizen dialogues to inform their thinking and decision-making about early childhood. More.

Programming

Public Forums bring experts and community members together for public presentations and conversations about the implications of early childhood research for families and communities.

Citizen Conferences bring together a diverse mix of citizens to discuss the early childhood issues in their communities.

Issue Conversations bring together small groups of people to consider how the Wonder Years exhibit and programs can further their own efforts at education or coalition-building.

Field Experiences are facilitated by CYFC staff and provide a professional development opportunity for students, faculty and practitioners.

Partners

Funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), Wonder Years is a partnership between the Science Museum of Minnesota, the University of Minnesota (CYFC, Center for Early Education & Development, and Institute of Child Development), and Public Agenda.
