About the Program
In English En Español
Minnesota’s Latinos and East Africans have unique needs and wants with regard to financial literacy.
The Latino and East African Financial Literacy program helps those who are new to Minnesota understand financial information and systems that many of us take for granted. They are often unsure how to work with banks, insurance agencies, landlords, or creditors, and they don't know who to turn to answer their questions.
We understand the specialized needs of our clients. They do not have to do it alone. Whether setting up their first checking account, renting or buying their first home, or sending their child to college, the Minnesota Latino and East African Financial Literacy team is here to provide answers and help navigate the systems. We help Latinos and East Africans make sound financial decisions at every stage of their lives.
We provide information through classes or by working with individuals one-on-one. Our experienced bilingual staff offer sessions in English, Spanish, Nuer, Arabic, and Somali depending on the needs of the client.
To learn more about the classes or to make an appointment, contact a program staff in your area. All services are confidential and free of charge.
