Who we are, what we do...

Located within the Center for Youth Development, the mission of the collaborative is to stimulate, develop, collaborate and contribute to research and evaluation efforts addressing issues of importance to the field of out of school time.

A growing body of research suggests that out of school time opportunities play a critical role in the positive development of young people. We bridge youth research findings with implications for out of school time policy and practice.

The collaborative reaches out to youth development policy makers, stakeholders, program leaders, decision makers and the research community to stimulate, conduct, collaborate and effectively communicate about research vital to building out of school time capacity.

Applied Research and Evaluation is shaped to enhance accountability, increase understanding and move the field of out of school time forward through: Public Symposiums, Applied Research, Evaluation, and Networking.
