Pork Quality Assurance (PQA) and Transport Quality Assurance (TQA)

PQA and TQA are certification programs that provide continuing education to pork producers.

PQA provides improved animal well-being standards and relevant food safety standards to ensure producers can measure, track and continuously improve pig well being. TQA helps swine transporters, producers, and handlers understand how to handle, move and transport pigs and the potential impacts those actions have on pig well-being and pork quality.

U of M Extension, in conjunction with Minnesota Pork Board, holds these 3-hour, in-person trainings throughout the year.
