About the Program

Many crop producers rely on ag professionals to help them manage their crops efficiently, with an increasing focus on environmental stewardship. With the increased emphasis that the agrichemical and seed technology industries are placing on education of their personnel, Extension has specifically geared several educational offerings to ag professionals.

The Institute has been a pioneer in conducting crop production education for ag professionals. For two decades we have worked with retail dealers, crop consultants, sales personnel, and county extension staff to pass on research-based information relating to crop management.

Keeping Ag Professionals on top of current production techniques helps to ensure economically and environmentally responsible cropping decisions are made throughout the state.

The Institute offers the Crop Pest Management Short Course (2 days of seminar-based programs held in November), the Ag Professional Research Update (several half day sessions in January in different regions of the state), and the Field School for Ag Professionals (2 day hands-on learning school in July).
